What are consonant digraphs? A consonant digraph is a combination of two consonant letters that form a single consonant sound (also known as a consonant phoneme). Digraph consonants make a unique sound from two consonants. An example, “sh” consonant digraph makes a new combination sound. Neither the “s” sound or the “h” sound.

Consonant digraphs vs consonant blends. Consonant blends also make a new sound from two consonants but retain the sounds of the blended consonants. An example, “sl” blends together the s and l sounds. Each consonant retains the sound associated with those consonants. It is first the “s” sound, blended with the “l” sound.

Consonant Digraph Buddies represent the seven H digraphs your learner will encounter in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Digraph Buddy Crew is a fun and interactive way to introduce consonant digraphs. Each Consonant Digraph Buddy uses character recognition to help your student recall and differentiate consonant digraphs to quickly match them to the sounds they represent.

Daily Goal Setting Cards

Your students set daily goals just like we do! This 4” x 5” tool allows them to change their daily goal by writing it in the blank square or by placing a sticky note in the square space. Write the student’s name on each card, laminate, and then have them choose a daily goal to work toward.

Throughout the day, they can self-assess whether they are on track to meet their goal by bubbling in a thumbs up or thumbs down with a dry erase marker in the morning, midday, and the afternoon.
